Things I Love: CALIFORNIA!

Hello! Tim and I just returned from an amazing trip to San Francisco and Marin County that was, let’s face it, completely about food (and wine). I was reporting a story for a magazine on the perfect food road trip and I did my best to report (eat) a lot, see (drink) a lot; as well as bask in the moody, verdant, rocky bluffs of Point Reyes, the sun soaked valleys, hills, vineyards of Napa and Yountville, and the grungy urban thrills and restaurants of the Mission District in San Francisco.I’ll be posting all week about some of the food highlights—like the grass-fed steak and eggs and lamb burger from Marin Sun Farms (pictured at top); to the raw oysters with mignonette and crisp Russian Valley wine at The Marshall Store
A long desired and perfect meal at Thomas Keller’s Ad Hoc restaurant in Yountville…

Bubbles in Napa Valley…

And a visit to one of the most wonderful stores and workshops  I’ve ever been to…

Heath Ceramics Factory Store in Sausalito, where I literally almost lost my mind with pleasure (geeked out over plates, spent too much on plates, gave Tim agita).

More to come this week on all of our trip’s highlights!

  1. California is totally food paradise and I love how many Californians are so excited about fresh, healthy food.
