 
Yesterday we went to a very fun end-of-summer picnic hosted by the Canal House ladies to celebrate their newest titles:
Volume 8: Pronto!
There was sunshine and dogs, croquet and checkers, a signature cocktail called “the Italian dark & stormy” which is my new favorite drink/addiction (ice, Amaro liquer, ginger-ale, squeeze of lemon…deadly), a band playing bluegrass and the Dead, Bent Spoon ice cream, an incredible feast in a barn, and to top it off..a tomato fight…which I’m proud/scared to admit that my family took very seriously. There’s nothing like having an overripe beefsteak implode on your head.
It was a perfect way to celebrate the last day of summer, and also the perfect way to to spend my last day before the first leg of the KEEPERS Book Tour!!!!! If you live in Austin, Los Angeles, or the San Francisco area, we’d love to see you at any of these fun events (see details below)!!!!
And in October there will be more stops in the Twin Cities, Madison, WI, Philly, Delaware, Westport, CT, and Washington DC…so stay tuned.
